SKOM Sdn. Bhd. joins Marine Online's Global Shipowner Alliance
SKOM Sdn. Bhd. a Malaysian shipping company has officially signed up as a Global Shipowner Alliance (GSA) member on 28th September 2020 on the Marine Online Platform.
SKOM Sdn.Bhd. was incorporated in 2012 and is based in Kuala Lumpur. It is a subsidiary of Nam Cheong Limited – a leading global offshore marine group and also the largest shipbuilder in Malaysia. Nam Cheong Limited is also listed on the SGX-ST (Singapore Stock Exchange). The company aims to become one of the leading ship owning, operating and chartering service in the world. The company’s current fleet consists of Anchor Handling Tug Supply, Platform Supply Vessels and Maintenance Work Vessels, Safety Standby Vessels and Landing Crafts. It is currently operating 28 vessels.
Through this strategic alliance, Marine Online will be able to help them achieve higher efficiency as they utilize the platform and reduce operational costs. Apart from that, they can immediately use Marine Credit facility – the industry’s first instant credit system with a self-activation function. Shipowners can use Marine Credit for payments at 700 ports, over 40,000 ship supplies, spare parts, and other services.
